Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo collected 4,184 passing yards, threw for 31 touchdowns and posted an efficiency rating that was the fourth-highest in the league. Despite his impressive output, Romo still faces a legion of critics determined to make Romo the scapegoat for the team's disappointing 8-8 season. Asked about Romo, Cowboys executive vice president gave the 31-year-old quarterback a vote of confidence. "We are firmly in the corner that that's not our issue," Jones said Tuesday. "If you're a Cowboy... [Read More]

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reports that NFL spokesman Greg Aiello has informed them that the Indianapolis Colts can sign Stanford QB Andrew Luck as soon as this Friday. Last year, the lockout prevented the Panthers from negotiating with Cam Newton before the draft but the fact that the NFL has adopted a slotting system for draft picks, basically eliminates the need to negotiate much of anything so a deal could be signed in the near future. It remains to be seen whether or not Luck will throw at this year's... [Read More]

Talks began last week, and both sides want to reach a multiyear deal according to Scott Petrak of the Chronicle Telegram. The deadline for applying the tag is March 5.
Donte Whitner enjoyed his finest NFL season in 2011. The veteran safety earned his first Pro Bowl nod and finally reached the playoffs with the NFC West champion 49ers after toiling in Buffalo for the first five years of his career. Yet he's obviously still disappointed after the Niners were slayed in overtime of the NFC Championship Game by the eventual Super Bowl champion Giants. Asked on NFL Network's NFL Total Access on Tuesday night if he watched Super Bowl XLVI, Whitner responded: "Bits and pieces of it. I... [Read More]
With 17 seconds left in the Super Bowl, and the Patriots at their own 44-yard line, the Giants had 12 defensive players on the field. A Tom Brady pass was thrown incomplete and a penalty was called for too many men on the field and the Giants were penalized 5 yards but time went off the clock. The NFL Competition Committee will consider a change on rule regarding 12-men on field at the end of game situations to prevent teams from burning clock artificially according to Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports.

It's been a black eye for the team and community, and as Khan says it's a sign as underachieving. Hopefully,... [Read More]
Browns coach Pat Shurmur told the News-Herald of Northern Ohio that he has not given up on quarterback Colt McCoy. "I think it's fair to say (McCoy) has some things he has to improve on," Shurmur said. I think all that is refined when you have an offseason (program) to help. ... I think he can be very good if he plays at a high level like I think he can and makes the... [Read More]

Those wanting to know just how fast Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon is will have to wait until March 7 to find out. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Blackmon is unlikely to run at the Scouting Combine this week in Indianapolis. Many are still trying to determine whether or not Blackmon merits a top-five selection. A 4.4 forty would almost certainly ensure a top-five pick. A 4.5 would be status quo, leaving other factors to decide his fate, and anything above a time in the mid-4.5s would fuel doubts... [Read More]
